Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using Layr (the browser extension and web application), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Layr is a community browser extension that lets users create pixel-anchored annotations on any web page. Annotations are public by default and visible to all Layr users.

3. User Accounts

• You must sign in via Google OAuth to use Layr
• You are responsible for your account activity
• You must choose an appropriate username (no impersonation, hate speech, or explicit content)

4. Content Guidelines

All annotations are subject to AI moderation. The following content is prohibited:

• Hate speech, harassment, or threats
• Spam, advertising, or malicious links
• Explicit or illegal content
• Impersonation or doxxing
• Any content that violates applicable law

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban at our discretion.

5. Credits and Payments

• Credits are a virtual currency used for AI features within Layr
• Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or refunded
• Purchased credits and subscriptions are processed by Stripe
• You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe portal
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis

6. Layr Agent usage (Pro feature)

Layr Agent is an AI research assistant available to Pro subscribers. It can read public web pages on your behalf, using your own browser session, when you explicitly ask a question that requires fresh data.

• The Agent is Pro-only ($9/month). Credits consumed by Agent reads (5 per page) are non-refundable except in case of verifiable technical error on our side.
• You must not use the Agent for large-scale automation (scraping farms, mass data extraction, reselling extracted content). Sustained usage above 100 page reads per day on a single account is considered abuse.
• You are responsible for complying with the Terms of Service of any third-party site the Agent visits on your request. Layr provides the tool; you direct what it reads.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Agent (automated scraping, attempts to bypass the per-hostname consent flow, attempts to read login/banking pages outside of our automatic block list, etc.).
• The Agent never automates purchases, never fills credentials into forms, and never opens login or checkout pages. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of blocked patterns.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of your annotations. By posting, you grant Layr a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and process your content within the service.

8. Limitation of Liability

Layr is provided “as is” without warranties. We are not liable for content posted by users, service interruptions, or data loss beyond what is required by law.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account by contacting us at contact@layr.community.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
